I’ve been on the same weights routine for about six weeks now, which means it is time to switch things up! It is never good to do the same workouts for more than six weeks because your body will just adapt and you won’t see any changes. Simply changing up the exercises, sets or repetitions will be enough to keep your body guessing.
That said, I had a fabulous leg workout today and am here to share it with you all. I started my workout with 20 minutes of jogging on the treadmill to warm my legs up, then proceeded to do this workout.
Dumbbell Squats, 3 sets, 8 reps
Leg Press, 3 sets, 8-9 reps
Dumbbell Deadlift, 3 sets, 8 reps
Sumo Squat, 3 sets, 8 reps
Bodyweight Lunges, 3 sets, 20 reps each
Bodyweight Calf Raises, 3 sets, 20 reps
I love doing supersets! Not only do they make your workout more efficient, but also, they keep your heart rate up so you are burning more at a faster rate. I also love doing deadlifts with dumbbells because let’s face it, having to load weights onto a giant barbell is not only annoying, but also takes so much time! Doing deadlifts with dumbbells (one in each hand) works your core much more than using a barbell- so it is a double win!
Enjoy- and keep working hard 🙂
