Wow, this weekend flew by, but at least we had some sunshine over here in San Francisco! I had a great weekend that included a flea market and a new favorite brunch spot! I certainly love my brunches and I try to find new spots every weekend! Let’s recap the weekend and some scenes from earlier in the week too!
Last Wednesday, Dane and I headed to Hayes Valley for a little date night. Our first stop was the Riddler, which just recently opened. It’s a champagne bar and it was adorable. The night we went, it was incredibly busy, so we didn’t get to sit, but we found an area to stand and enjoyed a glass of wine!
The space is a lot smaller than I expected, but we loved some of the cute touches that made the space old fashioned and cosy. They had a popcorn machine with TONS of flavored sprinkles! Naturally, we went for the “Everything Bagel” seasoning and it was delicious!
We also stopped at Noir Lounge, which is just a short walk from the Riddler. We enjoyed some wine (Pinot Grigio for me!) and these pulled pork sliders! I’m a huge slider fan, so these hit the spot!
We’ve been wanting to hit up Mr. Tipple’s for a while now and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The space is perfectly cute and cosy. There is a stage with a live jazz band and little dimly lit tables surrounding the space. We hung out there for a while just sipping, chatting and enjoying the music! We also ordered their sweet and spicy nut mix, which was DELISH.
This dude totally caught me in the act...
Saturday was spend at Jack London Square in Oakland! It’s just a short Bart or Lyft ride away. We headed to the Fat Lady for brunch and were immediately transported to the backstage of a theater production! The ceiling had scripts lined up and the whole bar was decked out in theater props and design.
I enjoyed two eggs sunny side up with chicken apple sausage, ciabatta and mixed greens alongside sweet Riesling! We are definitely coming back to this spot— we loved it!
The rest of the day was spent strolling around Jack London Square. There was a flea market going on in the square and the weather was sunny and warm. We stopped at Plank for a drink before heading home for the day!
Some other happenings this week…
Beef burgers over arugula and broccoli slaw for a random dinner this week…
A new favorite snack find! This flavor is delicious! So much better than the regular BBQ one. And YES, while I usually snack on nuts, fruit and more nutritious items, I also enjoy some of the not-so-nutritious foods. Like I tell my coaching clients, I’m all about that balance, guys!
Baked Mahi Mahi and broccoli for a random dinner tonight! I just pop this into the oven for 20 minutes and BOOM, dinner.
Now you tell me…
