YAY, it’s Friday and I’m so ready for the weekend. Who’s with me? I’m glad to be here to share some things I’ve been loving lately. Let’s jump right in!
Larabar Bites and Fruit and Green Bars
I recently discovered Larabar’s bites and fruit and green bars and I’m totally hooked. The bites are dense, chewy and full of flavors (I particularly love the Cherry Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Brownie flavors). They are packed with filling fats, fiber and a little bit of protein. When I pack snacks, I love to pack ones that are balanced with carbs, protein and fat to keep me satisfied, so these fit the bill. I also tried their new fruit and green bars, which are awesome! They are packed with greens like spinach and kale and the fruit is CHUNKY. I ate one of these babies on my long flight over to London and it held me over for hours. Very cool idea to incorporate greens into their bars!
A Concert and Italian Dinner
I mentioned in my last post that Dane and I went to a Reggae concert last weekend followed by a delicious Italian dinner in Berkeley. We went and saw J Boog, The Movement, Iration and Slightly Stoopid at the Greek theatre in Berkeley. We aren’t necessarily reggae fans, but we thought it would be a fun outing and it sure was. I was totally diggin’ the music and the weather was perfect for sitting outside. After the concert, we went to Agrodolce for dinner. It’s a little southern Italian spot in downtown Berkeley and it was so cute and romantic! We ordered a bottle of the house wine and started with warm bread, an octopus salad and a chilled eggplant dish. For my main, I got the swordfish! Everything was incredibly tasty and relatively affordable (compared to most Bay Area dinner spots!) If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend checking it out!
Workout tops that can be worn out to dinner
This is a funny one, but I recently got this top from Onzie and it was too darn cute that I just had to show it off outside of the gym! It’s incredibly soft, it flows nicely and the open back is just gorgeous! I wore it to dinner in Tahoe during the 4th of the July weekend. I sure love it when you can dress up workout gear!
Now you tell me…
Larabars: YAY or NAY?
What’s your favorite genre of music?
Have you ever work workout gear outside of the gym?
Ugh, technical issues today and I am retyping world’s longest comment I just left hahah! First of all — I LOVE seeing shows at the Greek — it’s a beautiful venue for sure, as long as you bring some blankets to sit on the hard concrete hehehe. And as far as Larabar bites, I just tried them last week for the first time too. I bought the chocolate mint to take on our roadtrip and loved them. I think they would be easy to make, but I like the convenience of buying for sure. Happy Friday, friend! š
UGH, that’s the worst. Yeah, seriously! I had to sit in my jacket, so I will bring a pillow next time. I know they are easy to make too, but when I’m lazy, which is often, I like buying them, hah!
I just tried the new carrot-beet Lara Bar in Whole Foods this week. It was really good! I liked that it wasn’t as sweet. I’m more of a savory person when it comes to fuel foods.
Workout clothes are basically my uniform since I work from home. I really should just throw out all of my old dress clothes…
Carrot-beet? Oo I must try that one! Jealous you can wear workout clothes everyday!
LOVE Larabars, but I have yet to try the bites and the fruit and green bars! Your Italian dinner looks amazing (I’m super hungry about to go make and eat dinner, so I’m drooling all over my laptop over here). And I love when you can dress up workout clothes! It makes you feel like you’re winning at life (or at least it does to me š )
Haha, it does feel like you’re winning at life!
Oh my gosh that top is adorable! I love those bars too! Sometimes I only eat half a larabar because I just want a little bit, I like that these bars have a little less on fat front so they are great pre workout.
Thank you!! And yes, they do have more carbs and less fat, so great for pre workout!
I love the Larabites! I eat them for a treat after lunch a lot š I love the Coconut Macaroon and Chocolate Brownie ones, and I just bought the Salted Caramel and Chocolate Hazelnut ones and I can’t wait to try them!
I need to try the coconut ones!
I like Larabars and my 15 month old son LOVES them!
